Does Alljoyn work with VPN?

Hi everyone,

Following the Alljoyn documents, I known that Alljoyn system works on LAN. I would like to use Alljoyn for the remote controls (for example: the control is sent from the office to the devices at home). As I know that VPN works as a LAN, I would like whether Alljoyn can work on VPN or not?
