Why implement AllJoyn in Gateway/Router ?

What else strong benefits and applications to support AllJoyn on Router?

The AllJoyn thin client code base does not have routing node functionality. Therefore, devices that use AllJoyn thin client depend on another device that is always powered on and always reachable on the network in order to operate. Gateways and routers running alljoyn-daemon fill that role perfectly.

Thanks ! So, Does AllJoyn the star network or can be mesh network as ZigBee/Z-Wave?
