Talking to Belkin WeMo switch in Windows 10 IoT

Perhaps I've been led down the wrong rabbit hole, but the amazing tech in this video and higgns as well as the Qualcomm demonstration at CES led me to believe I could write my own application to link up my various devices.

I have a Belkin WeMo switch and a raspberry pi running Windows 10 IoT that I want to turn into a home controller. The raspberry pi is AllJoyn capable. I also want to do this in C# because it's the most convenient environment to write IoT capable windows apps.

Where do I start? Are there any other devices like the Belkin WeMo switch?

I think for what you are trying to achieve you should take a look at Microsoft Device System Bridge which allows to quickly create a bridge between any devices and AllJoyn. Here is below a link to DSB resources: https://wiki.allseenalliance.org/gateway/dsb
