Hi,

I am trying alljoyn thin client services of version 14.06 which are under base_tcl sample_apps as guided here https://allseenalliance.org/developers/develop/building/thin-linux . And, I can able to see config, controllesample, NotificationConsumer and Producer under build directory. But, I want to test onboarding sample. It looks, I have to edit SConscript files to build onboarding base_tcl. I am not getting the proper way to build Onboarding service of base_tcl.

If anyone tried this already or anything wrong in my way, Can you help me on this issue.?

Thanks in advance.!

Hello,

The Onboarding service is not setup to run on Linux/Windows out of the box. Since Linux/Windows do their own network management there was no reason to need to Onboard these targets. The Onboarding service is meant to run on embedded systems that have direct control of their WiFi module, meaning they can call API's to setup a soft AP, accept connections, re-connect to a different AP, etc. This would be possible on Linux/Windows but you would need to write some network layer code to do what I just described. If you are interested in using the Onboarding service the path of least resistance would be to pick up an Arduino DUE + GT202 WiFi module and have the Onboarding sample run on that board. If this interests you I can point you to some documents explaining it further but it sounds like you just wanted to test it out.

Thanks for the info. I try to running ajtcl onboarding service in Intel Edison AP Mode. I am having problem in building onboarding source code. If you have already tried to compile ajtcl source code for onboarding.? That helps me in this context.

I will need some more information about the problem your having. Build errors, run-time problems etc. I am not familiar with the Intel Edison platform but I do know that you will need to implement your own wifi control layer. Take a look at the AJTCL source code. The file "WSL/aj_wifi_ctrl.c" will show you all the functions that onboarding needs to have access to for it to work. You will need to implement these functions for the Intel Edison AP platform.

Problem is only with compiling onboarding service. If we get fresh source for ajtcl from git and after giving scons for compilation, it is generating binaries for only Notification services, config and controlpanel. But, I wanted to generate binaries for onboarding service as well.

I am trying to Modify SContruct and SConscript files, to compile onboarding service. Compilation is terminating with "Undefined reference" errors. I am suspecting that I missing something when editing these SConstruct and SConscript files. Hope you understand my issue. I give more info as required.

To understand my issue completely, if possible get ajtcl source from git and try to compile services section. Thanks, Ganesh
