Why does the Alljoyn SDK work on some wireless networks but not others? Do certain ports need to be unblocked?

I'm using the Alljoyn SDK to create an Android Chat Application as part of a University study. When developing the application at home, the sessions are created perfectly and other devices can discover and connect without issue.

Upon testing at University, the session is created and advertised without problem, but the other devices can't find existing sessions. Could anyone suggest reasons to this? Could it be a port blocking issue or some sort of security within the Wi-Fi connection?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards, Ben

The university wifi needs to, and probably doesn't, support broadcast traffic. they may also be port blocking.
