I have a problem. I can't send(receive) "Notifications" between Ubuntu(VMware) and Android device.

My PC:Windows 7 32bit using VMware Player. Ubuntu 12.04 LTS on Vmware Player. My PC connected to a router with wired LAN cable, and Android device connected with WiFi. From Ubuntu terminal, Ping command successes.

I built source(alljoyn-14.12.00-src.tar.gz) successfully. "ConsumerService" app could receive "TestService" app's 'Notification". But "NotificationService UI Sample" on Android device could not receive any Notirications.

Does anyone have good ideas?

Hi t-kawasa,

There is two things here:

  1. We are investigating an issue where the sessionless signals between 14.06 and 14.12 version of AllJoyn are not behaving as expected. This means that in the samples you mentioned if all of them are not using the same version of AllJoyn then you could potentially not see notifications.

  2. The samples under notification are being updated currently to make sure all use the 14.12 APIs which should remove any minor mismatch in versions. It could be the case that NotificationService UI sample is using a different version of AllJoyn APIs then the other two samples which would explain the behavior you are seeing if you put point 1 in the picture.

Hi Nikhil, Thank you for your reply. I'm sorry, but I said a wrong infomation. Both the source I built and Android SDK were 14.06. You mean notification samples in Android SDK 14.06 and in alljoyn-suite-14.06.00a-src are using 14.12 APIs? Should I make my Apps to use 14.12 APIs? t-kawasa
