I'm interested in the ping methods which are newly added in release 14.06a, so I tried to write my code with Eclipse by using the JAVA API,and I am sure everything else is okay as i have tested, but when I invoke the ping method by a busattachment object, only to find that an unexpected error was occured which reports that there was no ping method declared in the BusAttachment Class.

So I am wondering if there is any change to the ping method or it is just a inner test method now which can not be invoked from release 14.06a

Wish your help,and thank you!

the ping method is not an inner test method it is designed to be used.

How are you invoking it. The ping method looks for a remote peer based on the name of the remote peer. This means us must know the name of the peer you are looking for.

BusAttachment busAttachment;
busAttachment.connet();
...
// some time later after you have discovered a remote device
// using name based or about based discovery. Ping can be used
// to see if that device is still reachable. You must know its name first.
busAttachment.ping("remote.bus.name.unique.or.wellknown", 1000);
